ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) -- New details were revealed Thursday in the case of the Florida man accused of starting the deadly Pacific Palisades fire in California earlier this year.

Jonathan Rinderknecht, 29, will remain in the custody of U.S. Marshals, a Florida judge ruled, according to NBC affiliate WESH.

This came after the court heard from the ATF Special Agent in Charge, who described two police encounters Rinderknect had last month. On Sept. 19, he was accused of threatening to burn down his sister and brother-in-law's home, where he had been staying since relocating from California.

His father, who was visiting from France, told police on Sept. 25 that he was worried Rinderknecht may have a gun. Rinderknecht claimed the gun was locked in a safe, but police said they found it inside o
