A Martha’s Vineyard woman on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to manslaughter and child endangerment charges in connection with the March death of a 2-year-old she was babysitting.

Aimee Cotton, 41, entered her plea in Dukes Superior Court, where she was released on the $23,800 bail she posted after her district court arraignment in March, records show.

A grand jury indicted Cotton last month, moving the case to superior court.

Her lawyer didn’t immediately return a request for comment Wednesday.

Cotton called 911 on the afternoon of March 13 and said a child she was babysitting was not breathing and had turned blue. She told police she had left the boy and a 1-year-old girl in her car for about 15 minutes and found him unresponsive in his car seat, according to a police report.
