The organisers of the popular Birmingham Diwali Festival have vowed it will return after the event was pulled at the last minute due to security concerns.
The 10th anniversary family festival, which features music, displays, food stalls and fireworks, was due to be held on Sunday (October 12) but was cancelled due to safety concerns.
The Soho Road BID made the decision after holding discussions with the Safety Advisory Group and considered the recent attack on a synagogue in Manchester as well as evolving statutory requirements under Martyn’s Law.
