AMES — Audi Crooks is the Big 12 Conference Preseason Player of the Year.

Crooks, a junior center, led the Big 12 in scoring average a season ago, posting 23.4 points per game on 60.5 percent shooting from the floor. Crooks spent this summer playing for Team USA at the FIBA AmeriCup and brought home a gold medal.

Crooks is the fourth Cyclone to be named the league's Preseason Player of the Year and the first since Ashley Joens in 2022.

ISU's season begins Oct. 28 with a home exhibition against UW-Oshkosh.

Junior Cyclone forward Addy Brown also earned preseason accolades. Brown was named to the All-Conference First Team after earning second-team status last season. Brown is one of three returning NCAA Division I women's basketball players to average at least 15.0 p
