Sudbury entrepreneur opens the Chardikala Turban Store

For Northern Ontario’s Sikh community, finding a turban meant ordering from afar. Thanks to one international student-turned entrepreneur in Sudbury, that is no longer the case.

Gurpreet Singh Broca arrived a decade ago as an international student. Since then, he has become a strong advocate for cultural representation in the region.

Broca, who works at a major Canadian bank, opened the Chardikala Turban Store in Sudbury over the summer and has already expanded his product line to include other articles of faith, such as traditional head coverings, ceremonial cloths, jewelry and accessories like hairpins and grooming items.
