CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections needs poll workers for the Nov. 4 General Election.
“The Board of Elections and our democracy depend on the poll workers who help Ohioans make their voice heard at the ballot box,” a news release from the office said.
It notes hundreds of openings “for civic-minded people who wish to be part of the democratic process while earning extra cash.” Workers are needed to help staff the polls, transport ballots and materials and maintain political balance, according to the BOE’s website .
Shifts usually run from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. the Monday night before Election Day, and from 5:30 a.m. until the polling location shuts down, about 8:30 p.m., on Election Day. Pay starts at $220, and checks are typically mailed out within four to six
