East Renfrewshire Council is set to carry out a big clean-up of Barrhead. ‌

And the local community have been encouraged to roll up their sleeves and get involved. ‌

The Barrhead Big Clean Up – taking place on Friday, October 24 – will see the local authority spend the day tackling litter and fly-tipping hot spots across the town as part of a bid keep East Renfrewshire beautiful. ‌

East Renfrewshire continually scores high in litter cleanliness levels – achieving 94.9 per cent in 2024/25 – as measured by Keep Scotland Beautiful who monitor rubbish across Scotland.

However, the council insists it is not complacent and will continue to maintain standards.
