HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- New restricted crossing U-turn lanes (RCUTs) near the twin bridges in Henderson are now open.
The RCUTs are now open on U.S. 41 just south of the twin bridges. According to the Kentucky Department of Transportation, this was an important project in order to prevent people on Stratman Road or Wolf Hills Road from making left turns across multiple lanes of traffic in order to get further into Henderson or go to southern Indiana.
The $4,000,000 project wrapped up one week ahead of schedule. The Kentucky Department of Transportation says past data does show that RCUTs in place significantly drop crashes of all kinds.
