LORAIN, Ohio — Holly Jackson, a 1990 graduate of Lorain High School, has led a record-breaking effort to collect socks for people in need — gathering 17,715 pairs during a recent one-hour donation drive.
The event was held Oct. 4 at Crust Midtown in Cleveland. It was supported by Lorain City Schools, which contributed 10,000 pairs of socks to the total. Jackson said every pair will be distributed to local communities, including those in need throughout Lorain.
“We are very, very thankful, very blessed for the amount of people that love Walls of Love, and they know that 100% of what we get goes back to the community,” Jackson said in a press release. “All of the things that we’re collecting today are going to be disseminated to different charities. So Walls of Love isn’t keeping any of it
