EDGEFIELD, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A search warrant executed Thursday morning led to the discovery of the body of a man who was reported missing in June, according to Edgefield County officials.

Sheriff Jody Rowland told News 12 that 78-year-old James Wheeler was found dead at a home on the 300 block of Copeland Circle.

Detectives believe his body had been there since he was reported missing.
