AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A murder suspect — a man paroled from prison only a few weeks ago — has been arrested after a dead body was found behind a local gas station.

Authorities said Wednesday that Jeffrey Taiwan Eutsay, 42, was arrested less than 24 hours after the murder. After questioning, deputies said he would be booked into Richmond County jail.

The victim was identified as 70-year-old Charlie Creech, who was pronounced dead at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday behind a Chevron at 1501 Laney Walker Blvd.

Both the victim and suspect were homeless, according to authorities.

An autopsy of Creech will be scheduled, according to Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen.

Eutsay was previously arrested in 2018 in connection with a stabbing and charged with aggravated assault.
