A Colorado Bureau of Investigation agent who has been criminally charged with bigamy — marrying another person while already married — resigned after an internal investigation, the agency said Thursday.
Joe Somosky, who worked in the Pueblo region, was put on administrative leave July 20 after he was cited by the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, CBI officials said.
The agency launched an internal investigation into his conduct, and Somosky resigned rather than be fired.
His conduct was reported to the state’s Peace Officer Standards and Training database, according to CBI.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
