NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — This weekend, the community is invited to come out and walk around Centennial Park to recognize children who have lost their lives to homicide.
Child homicide is a devastating reality across the country, and it directly impacts our area. To find a solution, Cathy Gurley told News 2 we have to come together and never forget the names of these victims.
Gurley is the Chief Executive Officer of the organization You Have the Power. Its purpose is to bring together people who have been impacted by violent crime.
They will do so this Saturday, Oct. 11, at 9 a.m. in Centennial Park.
The walk will also help people connect to the children's memory garden in the park, which pays tribute to child victims of violence.
There is a $35 fee for adults to take part in the walk
