TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A Florida bill filed this week could soon change when and where people can drive their utility terrain vehicle or UTV.
House Bill 101 was filed by State Representative Richard Gentry. It would allow UTVs to be operated at all hours on certain roads and parts of the state highway system with speed limits of less than 55 miles per hour.
However, the Department of Transportation and local governments could still restrict their use. If passed, UTV owners and drivers would need to comply with new requirements and regulations.
The DMV would also have to issue license plates for registered UTVs.
