An Oklahoma lawmaker is expected to review case files from the state Department of Human Services involving a Canadian County family whose son was ordered into medical care by the state. The review is part of a larger effort by legislators to address what they call "medical kidnapping."
State Rep. Jay Steagall told News 9 that since the Mooney family's case went public, he and other lawmakers have been "overwhelmed by a response denouncing" the state's actions. Steagall said he and his colleagues have more work to do in hopes of protecting concerned Oklahomans.
