(NewsNation) — Israel's Cabinet has approved the framework of the deal to release all of the hostages in Hamas captivity, according to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Per Netanyahu's office, the plan will bring all the hostages, both the living and the deceased, home.

The approval is a crucial step in the ceasefire deal to stop Israel's 2-year war with Hamas.

It came as officials said the United States will send troops to Israel to oversee the implementation of the peace plan between Israel and Hamas.

The U.S. will send 200 troops, according to the Associated Press. The U.S. troops will not enter Gaza and will coordinate with Qatari and Egyptian forces also deploying to the region, a senior U.S. official tells NewsNation.
