Three Australian activists who were detained by Israeli authorities after attempting to deliver aid to Gaza have arrived back home, vowing to return again and accusing the federal government of not providing enough support.

Abubakir Rariq, Juliet Lamont and Hamish Paterson were three of seven Australians on the Global Sumud Flotilla, a fleet of ships intercepted by Israel’s navy off Gaza last week.

After being arrested and detained in the high-security Ketziot prison near the Israel-Egypt border, they were deported to Jordan and arrived in Sydney after 7am on Thursday.

The trio were greeted by about 100 supporters at the arrival gate, many of whom were waving the Palestinian flag.
