LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) -- A former police dispatcher who sued the city of Salem, its police chief and a supervisor, claiming gender discrimination and retaliation, has lost his case.
Judge Scott Washam issued the ruling last month against Joshua Kruegel.
Kruegel claimed that he was terminated in April 2023 because of gender bias and in retaliation for issues he brought up with his employment. Kruegel said that comments were made suggesting an all-female staff was preferred and that he was a "negative male presence."
Judge Washam wrote in his summary judgment that Kruegel did not prove his case and that the city terminated Kruegel for policy violations when he recorded another employee, according to court documents.
Kruegel was seeking to return to his job and sought damages for lost wages
