WASHINGTON — In a social media video , Rep.-Elect Adelita Grijalva, D-Ariz., who won a special election more than two weeks ago to fill her late father’s Arizona House seat, is calling on House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., to swear her in.
“Speaker Johnson continues to make excuses, but all the while, southern Arizona still does not have a voice in Washington,” said Grijalva. “First, it was certification and then it was whether Congress is in session. Hell, they won’t even end their vacations to come to work.”
Once in office, Grijalva,is expected to deliver the final necessary signature on a discharge petition led by Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Crescent Springs.
That petition would force a vote on legislation requiring the Justice Department to release its files in the case of the late conv
