MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Ronald Exantus, who was released after serving less than half of a 20-year prison sentence for killing 6-year-old Logan Tipton in Versailles, Kentucky, has been arrested in Florida for failing to register as a convicted felon.

Exantus was sentenced in 2018 for killing Tipton and injuring members of Tipton’s family during a random home invasion.

Court documents show he was released on Tuesday, Oct. 1, after serving less than seven years of his sentence. He will remain on supervised parole until June 18, 2026.

In April 2018, a jury found him not guilty of murder by reason of insanity but guilty but mentally ill on multiple felony assault charges.
