MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – A writer’s group based out of Moorhead is looking to the community for support after a trailer carrying its published works was stolen in Minot this past weekend.

Members of the Moorhead Friends Writing Group came to Minot to host a booth at Midwest MonsterCon, a horror-themed comic con event, on Saturday.

The group’s founder, Chris Stenson, said someone stole a member’s purse from the dining area of the Days Inn hotel they were staying in, took keys from the purse, and took their black SUV and the U-Haul trailer it was hauling.

They didn’t realize the vehicles were gone until later Saturday morning.

Stenson said the SUV turned up abandoned in a Minot mobile home park a couple of days later, but the trailer, with about $5,000 in merchandise and display equipment,
