GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live) - All eyes were on the University of North Dakota as they hosted Turning Point USA for an event Thursday night. An event Conservative icon Charlie Kirk was scheduled to speak at before his assassination at a similar event in Utah last month .

Comedian Jobob spoke early on in the event saying “The fact that, I’m not making stupid jokes and Charlie’s not going on after me. It just sucks.”

Thousands of people turned out in honor of Charlie Kirk including UND sophomore Braxton Balerud. “I think it’s important to honor his legacy for everything that he did for the United States.”

Some even traveled from the Detroit Lakes region.
