The family of injured Deshler football player, August Borden, released a statement on Thursday. The statement comes after the Madison County District Attorney's Office confirmed that no criminal charges will be filed in the case .

The DA's office gave an update on the case during a press conference on Wednesday saying that the incident involved "typical high school banter" and "limited physical contact." According to the DA's office, there was no malice or evidence in the case to support filing criminal charges.
