LOS ANGELES — Disney is proceeding with a live-action version of their animated movie "Tangled," according to reports.

While no casting announcements have been confirmed, Variety reports Scarlett Johansson is being eyed to star as Mother Gothel.

Deadline reports "The Greatest Showman" director Michael Gracey is still set to direct and is working from a script by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who most recently directed "I Know What You Did Last Summer."

Not much else is known about the movie, but the announcement caused a stir online and prompted fans to speculate who will play the main characters.

Standouts online are Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Zakhar Perez with people posting edits of them in the characters costumes online.
