Oklahoma's Tribal Nations are collectively disputing a claim by the state that recent court rulings on taxation and traffic tickets have clarified a jurisdictional dispute over hunting licenses.
The issued a news release on Wednesday, reminding hunters and anglers that "state fish and wildlife laws apply to everyone in Oklahoma regardless of race, heritage, or background." ODWC Spokesman Micah Holmes said, "Everybody that's going to go hunting , and that includes tribal citizens and people who aren't tribal citizens."
