LINCOLN COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - The Oregon State Police Fishing and Wildlife Division is seeking information about an alleged cow elk poaching incident in Lincoln County.

According to OSP, a dead cow elk was reported in the Stott Mountain area near Fraser Road and the Salmon River Estuary on Sept. 23.

The cow elk had been shot in the abdomen with an arrow and left to waste, and appeared to have been shot that morning.

OSP says the area is open only for the harvest of bull elk during the archery season.
