Sidney Newton notched 17 digs and served two aces for the Patrick Henry Rebels in their 25-23, 25-12, 25-14 Hogoheegee District volleyball victory over Washington County rival Holston on Thursday night.

Erin South (18 kills, seven digs, two aces, two blocks), Kinsley Counts (10 kills, five aces), Mia Owens (31 assists, two aces) and Kylee Street (16 digs) powered PH too.

Chilhowie 3, Northwood 0

Rilynn Copeland served five aces and also collected 13 digs as the Chilhowie Warriors earned a 25-18, 25-20, 25-10 Hogoheegee District triumph over Smyth County nemesis Northwood.

Lexi Williams (19 assists, 11 digs, two aces) and Madi Preston (10 kills, five blocks, three aces) had prime performances as well for head coach Laura Robinson’s club.
