A new sober bar in the city centre was granted a premises licence even though it will not be selling booze. Arc, on Broad Street, will serve alcohol-free beer, kombucha, CBD soda and iced teas. The bar hopes to provide a safe and inclusive space for people who don't want to drink alcohol.
The reason the bar needed to get a premises licence from Bristol City Council , despite not selling any alcohol, is because venues still need to get permission from the council to show films and play music, including both live and recorded music. The licence does not allow the bar to serve alcoholic drinks.
