It is a disappointment when the Town of Falmouth speaks of renovating Lower Main Street to contrast with the beautiful town green that we are so proud of. It all started about 10 years ago, when a historic home was removed from near the Falmouth Mall and replaced with Town Fair Tire. Falmouth already had several dealers in town, so why did we need one more?

Town planners do not appear to consider established merchants who already exist here. How about Aldi? Why do we have competition for Stop & Shop and Shaw’s? What we would have really liked to see instead is a Trader Joe’s or a Whole Foods, an upscale establishment that varies from the others. And what about the high-rise, unsightly living quarters that are rising up around a magnificent Cape Cod 5 Savings Bank? This thoughtfully design
