MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A homicide investigation is underway after a verbal disturbance Thursday night, according to the Madison Police Department.

Authorities were called to the 4700 block of Dutch Mill Road around 8 p.m. for reports of shots fired and a verbal disturbance.

Officers found a person down, per MPD. More information about the person, or what led up to the incident was not shared at this time.

A homicide investigation is ongoing, and MPD said more information will be released soon.
