The until-recently local chairman of a major political party says he believes the party has "walked away from the people they had once championed".
Amid frustration over policy decisions that he argues go against the party membership, Steve Coxhead resigned this week as the NSW Nationals Tamworth Branch Chair.
On Friday, October 10, he announced he was leaving the party altogether and joining Pauline Hanson's One Nation.
"I resigned as I believe the party does not adequately represent NSW regional and rural voters anymore," he told media.
"The people who live and work here deserve good and better representation than what we have been receiving."
