The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced major changes for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 mega auction.

Franchises can now retain up to five players, including a maximum of three capped Indian players and two overseas players. At least one retained player must be an uncapped Indian.

BCCI introduced the Right-to-Match (RTM) card, allowing teams to reclaim players they previously released. The number of RTM cards available depends on how many players a team retains. For example, retaining four players gives a team one RTM card, while retaining only two allows three RTMs.

The auction purse is set at ₹15 crore. Retaining five players deducts ₹9.25 crore from the purse. The slabs include ₹3.5 crore for Player 1, ₹2.5 crore for Player 2, ₹1.75 crore for Player 3, ₹1 c
