The York County shootout that killed three officers last month injured Lt. David Godfrey so badly he was barely able to move his leg.
Now his rehab hospital says Godfrey, who heads the K-9 unit at York County Sheriff’s Office, is heading toward being able to walk on his own.
WellSpan Surgery & Rehabilitation Hospital said his care team reports that “he is making daily progress in regaining strength and is working toward walking without assistance.”
The hospital said Godfrey’s team hopes to discharge him “within the upcoming weeks as his progress continues.”
