The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Madhya Pradesh Police has taken Ranganathan Govindhan, owner of Tamil Nadu-based Sresan Pharmaceuticals, to Parasia (Chhindwara) court Friday, in connection with the deaths of 25 children due to toxic cough syrup.
Govindhan, who had a Rs 20,000 reward on his head, was apprehended in Chennai after he fled with his wife following the tragedy.
According to police sources, he will be produced before the Parasia court at 2 p.m. and the SIT will seek his remand.
The team, comprising 12 members, including six officers dispatched to Tamil Nadu earlier this week to track Govindhan’s movements and later arrested him Wednesday.
