So far unable to sell investors on its purchase of Our Lady of Fatima Hospital and Roger Williams Medical Center, the Centurion Foundation has turned its sights toward charitable dollars left over from a previous sale.
Georgia-based Centurion is asking the independent nonprofit Chartercare Health Partners Foundation to "return and transfer funds" to the new nonprofit it has formed to own the Rhode Island hospitals, according to a letter from General Assembly leaders endorsing the transfer. (The Centurion-aligned entity is called CharterCare Health of Rhode Island.)
