ASHEVILLE – Richmond Hill Park, which has been closed for over a year since Tropical Storm Helene, will partially reopen Oct. 11.
The phased reopening follows extensive damage and debris removal operations at the 160-acre city park, a wooded campus threaded with walking trails, bike paths and a disc golf course.
Some of the trails will open Oct. 11, with normal park hours from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Pisgah Area SORBA has maintained and expanded the trail network at the park for several years and continues to be instrumental as trail rebuilding continues, according to an Oct. 9 city news release.
The popular disc golf course is tentatively scheduled to reopen the following week with 16 of the 18 holes, pending assistance from the Western North Carolina Disc Golf Association with basket instal
