A workman's van in a residential neighbourhood was broken into with thieves allegedly stealing £3,000 worth of tools.
The incident took place on Broomhouse Crescent between Sunday, October 5 and Monday, October 6.
Perpetrators ransacked the van, taking drills, table saws, and stacks of workmen essentials, leaving behind only a bag of hand tools.
Edinburgh Live spoke to the father-in-law of the victim, who claimed over £3,000 of equipment disappeared.
He said: "Because we were on holiday, they were staying at my house with the dog. It’s just a plain black van that was parked across the street from the house.
"In the Broomhouse area this is starting to happen quite a lot. To me that's the bigger issue, this shouldn't go on. Broomhouse is a really nice place to live. People trust e
