Families of almost 45,000 disabled children and young people are set to receive an extra £255 in winter heating support this month, as Scotland’s unique benefit marks its fifth anniversary.
Child Winter Heating Payments have started landing in bank accounts and will continue to be issued throughout October to families caring for children with the highest disability support needs.
All payments are issued automatically by Social Security Scotland and expected to be made by the October 31. In total, £11.4 million is expected to be put in the pockets of families who need it the most, reports the Daily Record .
