CLEMMONS — To put it into golf terms, the new 20,000-square foot pro shop and clubhouse at Tanglewood Park might just be a double eagle.
It’s that good.
The new digs have been open for about three weeks, and while the vendor hasn’t quite moved in yet to start serving food and drink, the rest of the clubhouse is open for business.
“When golfers come in, they just sort of say ‘wow,’” said Mike Wilcox, the head pro of the two 18-hole golf courses that surround the new clubhouse. “We think a lot of people are going to like it.”
While the old clubhouse and pro shop, which was built in 1973 in preparation for the 1974 PGA Championship and was demolished, there’s plenty of history to look at. Speaking of history, Lee Trevino , won the championship.
