POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino joined with Jewish Federation Executive Director Karen Hochauser, elected officials, and leaders of the Jewish community on Thursday to mark the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel. Those terrorist attacks claimed the lives of more than 1,200 people and resulted in 251 people being violently kidnapped, taken across the border into Gaza, and held hostage. Forty-eight hostages are still being held in Gaza.

Serino purchased more than 100 yellow ribbons and handed them out for people to wear, while larger yellow ribbons are hung on the trees in front of the county office building.
