DES MOINES, Iowa —

Scattered storms moved over central and southern Iowa overnight and will be moving out of the state through the morning.

Clouds will clear for the afternoon with highs in the mid and upper 70s. We will start with southerly winds in the morning with northerly winds returning in the afternoon. The cold front passing over today will bring seasonable temperatures for the beginning of the weekend with morning temps in the 40s and afternoon highs Saturday mainly in the upper 60s.

Strong south winds will return Sunday around 15 to 20 mph. This will bring temperatures back into the upper 70s and near 80. So we will be on quite the temperature rollercoaster this weekend and entering the new work week. Our next round of rain wil
