Construction on a downtown redevelopment project is set to start at the end of the year, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration.

Richardson City Council members approved the redevelopment project at their Feb. 10 meeting after several Richardson residents spoke both in favor and against the project.
The 303,700-square-foot apartment complex will include 279 units and is located on Polk Street, near the intersection of S. Greenville Avenue and E. Main Street.
Additionally, the complex will be four stories with a five-story parking garage, according to the filing .
