Alex Kingston has opened up for the first time about her secret battle with uterine cancer last year.
The Strictly Come Dancing star, who is partnered with Johannes Radebe in this year's BBC series, received the devastating diagnosis after she experienced a haemorrhage on stage during a performance at the Chichester Festival last summer.
Initially, Alex dismissed her symptoms, which included bloating and aching, as "old age" and she "just sort of accepted it".
However, she now recognises these were signs of her illness.

Following her diagnosis, which came as a "shock", the former ER actress, 62, underwent a hysterectomy and radiation therapy.
She has now spoken out about her health crisis for the first
