Subtropical Storm Karen became the 11th named storm of the season Oct. 9.

Tropical Storm Jerry is bringing gusty winds and heavy rain to the Leeward Islands.

Forecasters also are watching three tropical waves, including two in the Caribbean.

Invest 96L strengthened into Subtropical Storm Karen Thursday night, becoming the 11th named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.

Don't expect any impacts from Karen in the U.S. The storm is almost 3,000 miles from Jacksonville. The storm is in the northern Atlantic and moving into colder water. It's expected to weaken into a post-tropical low Saturday, Oct. 11.

Farther south, Tropical Storm Jerry was bringing gusty winds and heavy rain to the northern Leeward Islands, despite weakening during the night.
