A Freeze Warning expires at 9 a.m. Friday for Lehigh, Northampton and Warren counties , after predawn temperatures dropped into the upper 20s to upper 30s across the region.

Residents should be prepared for a cold start to the day before temperatures moderate later, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

The morning will be the coldest of the season so far, with widespread frost possible in rural and suburban areas. Temperatures will gradually warm up, reaching the upper 50s to mid-60s by afternoon. Scattered low clouds may develop as the day progresses, but overall conditions will remain dry.
