ORONO — University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host a fall open house at the Lafayette and Rawcliffe 4-H Science and Engineering Learning Center on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place at 491 College Avenue in Orono.
This free public event will introduce youth and families to UMaine Extension’s 4-H programs. Participants can tour the learning center, meet staff and engage in science-themed activities, including hands-on experiments, seaweed squishies, our touch tank, tissue paper painting and 4-H toolkit demonstrations. Information about joining local 4-H clubs and youth programs will be available. Attendees, youth and adults, are encouraged to come in costume to celebrate the changing season.
