It’s a grueling sport even for veteran drivers, but imagine getting behind the wheel as a 9-year-old and taking home the checkered flag.

Racing for the first time in a stock car, 9-year-old Jace Pastore not only finished the race, he won!

“It was a dream … it was a dream come true,” Pastore said. “It was crazy, I was excited.”

Pastore became the youngest stock car driver in Oxford Plains Speedway history to win a feature race.

“It felt really good. I raced against my cousin. He finished third,” Pastore said.

So was he nervous at all racing against older drivers?

“Yeah, sometimes those big races, especially in a car, I was pretty nervous,” Pastore said.
