Fire and rescue had to cut someone from the wreckage after a crash involving multiple vehicles in Warwickshire. Police told motorists to avoid parts of the A46 after and incident that closed the road in both directions.

Emergency services attended the scene near Stratford in Warwickshire on Friday afternoon.

Warwickshire Police used its social media channels to warn drivers of the incident, saying the road will be closed for a prolonged period.

"The A46 is closed in both directions between Bishopton and Snitterfield and is likely to be closed for some time following a multiple vehicle collision," the post read.
