Tesco shoppers have voiced their astonishment after the supermarket giant appeared to implement drastic security measures at one of its branches. Taking to Reddit, one customer shared a photograph of the chilled section where cheese has become the subject of enhanced anti-theft protection .

The picture revealed £3.45 blocks of Tesco's own-brand cheddar and 30% reduced fat mature cheddar secured within plastic containers. "Security box?" questioned the Reddit user in their caption.
