Work has started on a range of homes in Larkhall which will help support independent living. ‌

A total of 19 properties will be built in Watson Street, on the site of the former McWhirter Care Home and Nesbitt Day Centre. ‌

More than half of the homes (11 in total) will take into account specific care need, with wheelchair accessibility, structural hoist capacity, space for carers and dedicated accessible parking spaces. ‌

There will be a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom properties, with a four-bedroom home also built.

In addition, four three-bedroom semi-detached homes with three full-size double bedrooms will provide additional family accommodation for the area.
